WEB May 31 Reuters - Veterans and world leaders will gather in Normandy, northwestern France, on June 6th to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a historic event that paved the way for the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany. The French President will honor American World War II veteran Dick Rung with the Legion of Honor during an international ceremony.

WEB The Royal Marines of 47 Commando will participate in a beach landing to commemorate the D-Day landings. The whole of Normandy will be involved in the commemorations, which aim to honor the sacrifice and courage of those who fought and fell on those fateful days.
